A Colorful Garden of Sounds (WA4)

Looking through my glasses, I found some factors that make a boyband worse than a group of musicians; I mean the one that plays musical instruments. First of all, in live performance, a boyband attracts people with their dances. They usually sing the songs accompanied by some unique moves that people considered as dances. Meanwhile, a group of musical instrumentalists of course will show their skills in playing instruments to impress the watchers. Usually this group consists of a guitarist, a bassist, a drummer, a vocalist and occasionally a keyboardist. For me, the talent in playing music instruments needs more intelligence than just moving our body in a specific formation. Second, a boyband nowadays produces music for the importance of industry and puts the essence of art aside. A group of instrumentalists does music mostly because they have passion in music besides doing it for a living. Finally, most boybands have the same kind of music and it makes the world of music a bit boring. On the other hand, there are vast varieties of genre for the instrumentalists. For instance, Blink 182 has the soul of punk, while the All American Rejects plays alternative rock and Snow Patrol is a bit of brit-pop. Coldplay gives some sort of ambient in their songs, Angels and Airwaves has some electronic echoes in their songs, while in Indonesia there is Steven and The Coconut Trees that plays Reggae and local artist like AA Rock and Roll that gives jazz touches in their songs and many other bands. This diversity gives the world a colorful garden of sounds.
